Used this on our recent trip to Hawaii. It was so fun to pack and the color is gorgeous. I fit:

- Ipad

- inflatable sleep pillow
- padded eye mask

Super handy to have this onboard during the flight and have the peace of mind that I'd be prepared if anything happened to my big suitcase.

It can get a bit heavy, but wearing the strap cross-body helps (or asking your husband to wear it :D)

I fear that the leather handles might stretch or break overtime cause the part just above the stretching looked softened after just one use but maybe that's normal.

I flew frontier for a 3 day trip and was able to get everything I needed into the Bento bag. I usually pack tons of toiletries but I still was able to get in all my necessary basics into the provided bags. The tech bag was plenty roomy too. Loved the water bottle pocket too.

For context, I'm a flight attendant. As you can imagine, my job requires me to be away for numerous days at a time. While my employer does issue bags, I stumbled upon this bag in a YouTube video and I decided to buy it!

It can easily fit 4-5 days of clothing, including undergarments if you roll/compress it down properly, along with my iPad, my chargers, my work-issued tablet, and my passport. The Bento Bag really is a game changer and it has helped me reduce my over-packing tremendously. Also, it's very compact so if you're traveling for less than a week, you honestly wouldn't even need to bring a carry-on. I absolutely love it and will recommend it to my friends and coworkers!

I had heard a lot of good vibes re the Nomad Lane Bento Bag. It is better than all the reviews. I am delighted with the organization and capacity that this bag offers. Bravo Nomad Lane!

I am someone who makes a spreadsheet and does hours of research for any decent sized purchase. I’ve been using my expandable Longchamp as a personal item for the last 5 years, and while it’s an amazing bag and still looks brand-new, it’s been increasingly difficult to take it on planes due to the lack of trolley sleeve and organization. I probably compared 20 different personal item bags, mainly duffels and totes, before I came across the Bento Bag. I watched dozens of reviews of this bag and I really thought it was too good to be true. Then I received it. I tested it with so many different packs and it was everything I’d hoped for and then some. I’m currently using it as my personal item in Japan, and it has doubled as an overnight bag for when we do luggage forwarding. It’s definitely easier to travel with on top of my carry-on, but the crossbody strap makes it a little easier to carry when I don’t have my suitcase. It fits the perfect amount of stuff and the firm shape helps avoid bulkiness. I love that everything I need is right at my fingertips. I didn’t know what I was missing til I had it, and now there’s no going back. I’ve already convinced 2 other people to get this bag. If you’re on the fence, please trust in the hours of research I did and take the plunge.

After traveling with a back pack that had no pockets or compartments and seeing a review of the Bento Bag I decided to purchase one for myself for an upcoming 2 weeks long trip to Germany and England earlier this summer. Since then I have also taken the bag for a weekend getaway to attend a wedding.

I liked that the handles and straps for the bag were sturdy and never felt like they were in any danger of coming off despite the bag feeling quite loaded with weight. I was able to get everything in it that wouldn't fit into my carry-on sized suitcase for the 2 weeks, and that included a purse, laptop, spare lithium battery packs for my medical travel cooler, and shoes. I had other things in there as well. The bag was HEAVY, but held up well!

I had no troubles with the operation of the bag. Everything zipped up and unzipped flawlessly every single time I accessed it. The dedicated electronics and clear liquids bags were very handy while flying. I liked being able to access the larger side of the bag from the top or from behind the laptop storage. The elastic strap for keys was nice, as it made leaving our home and returning so easy. I never had to hunt for my house keys!

When coming home from overseas I didn't need to haul my carry-on suitcase with me, so I checked it. That wasn't the smartest thing when it came to walking through the airports we were passing through, as my Bento Bag was then VERY heavy and left me with neck strain and a headache for a week due to carrying the bag cross body with the strap. I was at that time envious of my husband's dedicated travel backpack with all the pockets and storage that didn't cause him any strain or grief. If I could recommend any change to the Bento Bag it would be to allow it to be a backpack when needed. Otherwise, it was a wonderful bag with lots of thoughtful design put into it.

I chose the burgundy color and it didn't become obviously dirty during my long travels, It also didn't seem to scratch up at all from bumping into things or being shoved beneath the seats in front of me time and time again. The soft but sturdy fabric storage bag it comes in helps me to keep my Bento Bag clean between uses.

Just got my bento bag in the pink color and it perfectly matches my Away carry on. There isn’t a use case left off this bag, they considered all possible bells and whistles. It’s perfect for a weekend getaway or a global trip to keep me adhering to my new “never check a bag” goal!!

I bought this bag in the hopes that it would not only protect my laptop better, but would also enable me to avoid checking a bag. IT IS PHENOMENAL! I'm so glad I got it.
