I am someone who makes a spreadsheet and does hours of research for any decent sized purchase. I’ve been using my expandable Longchamp as a personal item for the last 5 years, and while it’s an amazing bag and still looks brand-new, it’s been increasingly difficult to take it on planes due to the lack of trolley sleeve and organization. I probably compared 20 different personal item bags, mainly duffels and totes, before I came across the Bento Bag. I watched dozens of reviews of this bag and I really thought it was too good to be true. Then I received it. I tested it with so many different packs and it was everything I’d hoped for and then some. I’m currently using it as my personal item in Japan, and it has doubled as an overnight bag for when we do luggage forwarding. It’s definitely easier to travel with on top of my carry-on, but the crossbody strap makes it a little easier to carry when I don’t have my suitcase. It fits the perfect amount of stuff and the firm shape helps avoid bulkiness. I love that everything I need is right at my fingertips. I didn’t know what I was missing til I had it, and now there’s no going back. I’ve already convinced 2 other people to get this bag. If you’re on the fence, please trust in the hours of research I did and take the plunge.

This product is just as good as what described on the Nomad Lane website, well designed and well made. Love it.
Along with compression cubes, so much can fit into this small bag. Love that the middle section opens like a regular suitcase. And the other convenient compartments make it easy to locate items you'll need during your flight. Love the sleeve that can also be converted into a another pocket. This is the most versatile bag I have found.
Beautiful and functional, light weight
I had the chance to use this bag as my personal item for a transcontinental flight last week. I love that there’s a compartment for everything I need when traveling: laptop, tablet, headphones, neck pillow, etc, plus plenty of room for extras. The outside sleeve allows stacking on top of carry-on luggage easily. Really happy with this purchase. Will be my designated personal item for a long time to come.
The bento bag is made very well with quality materials. You can fit a lot of items in the clamshell sections of the bag while still retaining its smaller size. Well thought out organization and pockets. It has a luggage pass through and quick access to liquid bags for TSA. Very happy with purchase.
