I can’t believe how well organized this bag keeps everything and how much I can actually stuff into it. I only travel with a backpack so being able to access contents without everything having to be pulled out to dig around at the bottom makes life so much easier. It’s actually fun to pack this and unpack this. Get it! You’ll save money and baggage fees and then it pays for itself.

Just took this on a 2 week trip to Spain and Ireland. I like the tailored look of the backpack, not a lot of straps hanging all over. It gave me comfort to use the hidden pocket behind the trolley strap, I stored my extra money there. I also appreciated the ease of opening the bag from the top to take out or put back items I used on the flights. This is my first clamshell style, so it took a bit to get used to it. All in all I'm very pleased.

Best travel backpack / personal item I’ve ever owned! I searched long and wide for a new travel backpack for my recent 12-day trip to France and after watching several social media influencers (Travel Tips by Laurie and Ally Smalls) recommend the Nomad Lane products, I knew I had to give the Bento Backpack a try. No regrets - I immediately returned the other backpack I had purchased in favor of this one. The design, the endless pockets and organization - I was able to fit nearly the same amount into the Bento Backpack as I was my roller board carry on! It even fit under the seat on the tiny Embraer 145 plane. This is a one time travel investment you won’t regret making!

First domestic flight with carry on only using Bento backpack for work. Made travel much easier. Convenient external pockets. Very comfortable straps. Easy access to bag contents. I can pack my laptop & tablet if I wanted to. I can only imagine how many edits went into creating this design. If you're a frequent business traveler, the bento backpack is worth the investment.

This is a great backpack, I love all of the pockets and compartments. It kept me organized throughout my trip. I easily packed for a week combined with a carryon roller bag. Good quality.

Received my Bento Backpack MUCH earlier than expected (originally was due to ship in November, so it was a treat to receive it in August, since I have a LOT of travel upcoming!). I already own the original Bento bag, so was familiar with the style of organization. Got it one day, travelled for a 3 night/4 day trip about 3 days later. It held all the clothes I needed. The dedicated spots for toiletries and chargers/connectors were just right! I did not carry a laptop, but could have done so, and I did carry an ipad and a kindle, no problem! Basically everything I needed for the trip, which combined some touristing and some work. As it happened, I took just the shoes I was wearing, but I could have slipped a second pair in had I needed to. In one front pocket, I carried snacks and a bag with various needs (eyeglass cleaner, tide-to-go, etc...) and in the other I carried my over-ear noise-cancelling headphones (so not buds, the big kind) and they fit nicely.

The price continues to stun me a bit for a backpack, but the quality and organization and capacity in the end makes it a worthwhile investment.

It is comfortable to wear as a backpack, even fully loaded. And I appreciate that it does NOT have a lumbar strap, which makes it easier to carry from the top handle when needed.

I love that it fully opens like a suitcase, that was the feature that completely sold me on this! When I first ordered and the color I wanted (venetian violet) was listed as a November delivery I thought of it as a Christmas present to myself. But it came late August and my birthday is first week of September, so now it was my birthday present to myself and I couldn't be happier with it!

This was the back pack I had been waiting for. It organizes and functions a lot like the bento bag, and the back packing straps provide convient carrying when your carry on get checked.

I have the Bento Bag and used it in March on an international trip, and I loved it! I am so excited to use my Bento Backpack for my upcoming trip to Alaska. I love the extra storage pockets. I even did a practice run packing the bag and fit more in it, with a little extra room left, than in other bags I have used. Really impressed so far and look forward to seeing how it works out on this next trip.

I am looking forward to packing my new backpack for a trip next month. I love all of the space and the pockets for easy access are genius when going through TSA. The Cranberry Color is stunning! I researched backpacks for a month before ordering and so far, I think that I made a great choice for me.

I bought this beautiful blue backpack for my son's birthday because we have an upcoming family trip. I love all of the features of this backpack like the clamshell opening, the easy access pockets for TSA toiletries or a quick reach in for cords on a plane. I also love that a laptop will be easy to remove for security. And it will be versatile as a backpack or a personal item slipped onto luggage.

I have used this twice now - once on a road trip and once carry on only to the Galapagos. It held up well in the rustic environment of the galapagos. My only quibble - is that the trolley sleeve is a little tight, and when the backpack is full, it can be very hard to place over the telescoping handle of my carry-on suitcase. I absolutely adore the Bento Backpack in Venetian Violet! It’s super organized, which is honestly my favorite thing about it. I love that it opens flat like a suitcase and makes it easy to see everything at once instead of having to dig around for things. The pockets are really well thought out, and it has a place for everything I need. It also comes with the toiletry bag and tech bag that fit inside the backpack as well. It is easy to carry and has a really nice look to it. I’m pretty sure I’m going to end up buying another one in the new Naval Blue color.

What do I love about this backpack? The QUALITY, the color, the size (it holds so much and still fits under the airplane seat), the organization, the versatility (for me it’s a perfect suitcase/ backpack combo), the shoulder straps, the handle, the slip sleeve to slip it onto my rolling carry-on’s telescoping handle, the ability to sit up straight on its bottom when crammed full and not flop over, the outside pockets and quick accessibility of the items in those pockets and other pockets, and the whole interior is a light color so that it’s easy to find the things packed inside. I also like the 2 small storage bags they included for electronics or whatever. I am just thrilled with this item that has already made my trip so much easier to find my things when I reach my destination and need to unpack, repack, unpack, and repack again. This pack actually does carry more than your expect. I put it through its paces for a long weekend to see if it could hold as much as my wheeled carryon. And it did. Color me thoroughly impressed. I highly recommend the backpack!

Beautiful backpack, but it's HUGE! I will say though that I am 5 ft tall, so it's going to look like I have a turtle shell behind me. However, the organization is just as great as the Nomad Bento Bag! Love Venetian Violet color, too! I have yet to travel with it, but I'm sure it'll fit all the essentials I need to bring with me a a carry-on or personal item!

This is the perfect size for us. So much storage and organization. We are so excited and are looking forward to traveling with this backpack to Alaska and beyond.

We bought this for our trip to Alaska but we are so happy with the structure and storage that it will be our go-to travel accessory for all of our trips. Wish we had purchased it sooner.

My husband and I each have the Nomad Lane bento bags and we were excited to each try the backpack. It's incredibly well made and very well laid out similar to the bag. My husband loves it, but for me, it's a little too heavy and moreso, the straps don't fit comfortably on my shoulders, so I will either regift it or sell it. If it fits you well, it is a bag for life!

Just wrapped at a work conference and this bag was so awesome! Tech bag and easy access, liquids bag with easy access. Clam shell style bag allows quick packing and unpacking and holds so much more than you would think! Also, this bag is a great back pack for throwing on and wearing it. The pocket in the back makes it easy to set on a carry on, but it’s also comfortable to wear the traditional way. The straps don’t cut into your shoulders and the back of the bag has a nice, soft, breathable mesh! Great addition to the travel bags I have! 100% satisfied!

I’ve been using the bento bag since its inception on kickstarter and love it, though the last year have started leaning towards one bag travelling. And with the duffle bag it can be hard on your shoulder and this was the only reason why at times I favoured a backpack though have missed the organization of the bento. When this backpack came out I knew I had to get it right away! Not only have I been using it on my weekend trips but have started using it for my daily commute too and from work and it’s been wonderful. So happy with this bag!

Just finished packing it up and should be organized for TSA and for the connecting flight travel. Have the bento bag also but haven’t used it yet. Grabbed the backpack for handsfree option. It holds flight essentials, accessibility looks great and will see how it fits underseat. Trying not to overpack and leave some squish room. Will put it in trash liner bag to keep it sanitary and clean for underseat placement. Will followup if needed.

This backpack is lightweight and will hold everything you need. Very well made. Exudes classiness.

I absolutely love my Bento Backpack. I’ve been on the search for a quality travel backpack and so happy I found it with the Nomad Lane travel backpack. I never tried the original Bento bag because I prefer traveling with a backpack so was excited to try this out when I saw it was recently released. The compartments are so useful and it fits everything I need, and yet makes it feel all compact. It fits perfectly under the airplane seat, and I also just love the style and look of it. I can feel that it will last for a while. This was my first Nomad Lane product and I’m looking forward to trying out their other products.

I love that everything is in its place. There is easy access to the things needed. It actually holds a lot of clothes and items. I was surprised!
