Used this on our recent trip to Hawaii. It was so fun to pack and the color is gorgeous. I fit:
- 1.5 outfits (in case my checked bag got lost)
- AirPods Max
- Tech cables (love the little bag that comes with it)

- Ipad
- notebook & notepad
- inflatable sleep pillow
- padded eye mask
- pill case

Super handy to have this onboard during the flight and have the peace of mind that I'd be prepared if anything happened to my big suitcase.

It can get a bit heavy, but wearing the strap cross-body helps (or asking your husband to wear it :D)

I fear that the leather handles might stretch or break overtime cause the part just above the stretching looked softened after just one use but maybe that's normal.

Fits in Frontier personal item sizer

I flew frontier for a 3 day trip and was able to get everything I needed into the Bento bag. I usually pack tons of toiletries but I still was able to get in all my necessary basics into the provided bags. The tech bag was plenty roomy too. Loved the water bottle pocket too.

From the perspective of a flight attendant, I love it.

For context, I'm a flight attendant. As you can imagine, my job requires me to be away for numerous days at a time. While my employer does issue bags, I stumbled upon this bag in a YouTube video and I decided to buy it!

It can easily fit 4-5 days of clothing, including undergarments if you roll/compress it down properly, along with my iPad, my chargers, my work-issued tablet, and my passport. The Bento Bag really is a game changer and it has helped me reduce my over-packing tremendously. Also, it's very compact so if you're traveling for less than a week, you honestly wouldn't even need to bring a carry-on. I absolutely love it and will recommend it to my friends and coworkers!

Best Bag Ever

I had heard a lot of good vibes re the Nomad Lane Bento Bag. It is better than all the reviews. I am delighted with the organization and capacity that this bag offers. Bravo Nomad Lane!

Truly unsure if I could be more obsessed with a bag

I am someone who makes a spreadsheet and does hours of research for any decent sized purchase. I’ve been using my expandable Longchamp as a personal item for the last 5 years, and while it’s an amazing bag and still looks brand-new, it’s been increasingly difficult to take it on planes due to the lack of trolley sleeve and organization. I probably compared 20 different personal item bags, mainly duffels and totes, before I came across the Bento Bag. I watched dozens of reviews of this bag and I really thought it was too good to be true. Then I received it. I tested it with so many different packs and it was everything I’d hoped for and then some. I’m currently using it as my personal item in Japan, and it has doubled as an overnight bag for when we do luggage forwarding. It’s definitely easier to travel with on top of my carry-on, but the crossbody strap makes it a little easier to carry when I don’t have my suitcase. It fits the perfect amount of stuff and the firm shape helps avoid bulkiness. I love that everything I need is right at my fingertips. I didn’t know what I was missing til I had it, and now there’s no going back. I’ve already convinced 2 other people to get this bag. If you’re on the fence, please trust in the hours of research I did and take the plunge.

Verde Bento Bag

I ordered the Bento bag for my daughter in law for a Christmas present as she travels frequently. I knew she has several upcoming trips, so I let her have an early surprise. She has already taken out the bag for it's maiden voyage and loves it. The big challenge will be next week for Europen Christmas Market.

PERFECT for ME!!!

I've started traveling by air more for work this year - one-to-two weeks at a time. And I refuse to check a bag unless forced. I was making due with a backpack for my laptop, iPad, manuals, etc. When I'd finally stuff my diffuser in there it was just so bulky and heavy and uncomfortable to wear. But it was a perfectly functional backpack. I spent money on it (albeit well under $100). I didn't "need" a new personal item - especially not one so pricey!!! But after my last two-week trip I decided to experiment - no commitments! I purchased three personal items (from three well-known brands) with generous return policies to test, including this one from Nomad Lane. I could barely fit my laptop in the other two (let alone with anything else!), so those were returned right away. Too bad because the prices, although still more than I wanted to spend, were much lower. And then came the Nomad Lane Bento Bag. Everything fit with ease and even slid over the extended handle on my cheap Costco carry on that has lasted me over ten years. But the real test came when I traveled next (which is why it's taken me a while to post this review). Traveling to my destination, with everything i was able to fit into the Bento Bag, I was able to fit my hairdryer and diffuser into my carry on. For my travels home, two weeks later, I had some extra books and a bulky sweatshirt to add to the mix. Those went into the carry on and I was able to fit the hairdryer and diffuser into the Bento Bag with everything else I originally had in there! It's like a Mary Poppins bag! It still slid over the carry one handle. It still fit comfortably under the seat in front of me. It still went through TSA with ease. I LOVE THIS BAG. It is PERFECT for ME.

True, if I were forced to gate check my carry on I'd have a tough time schlepping the Bento Bag around over my shoulder. It is HEAVY when packed out. Thankfully I haven't needed to do that (yet).

Great organization!

I like to keep my things organized and sorted so I can find them quickly. This bag does that for me. I really like the easily accessible separate compartments. It took a little experimenting and moving things around but I think I have a good system now to maximize the space, carry all my essentials and a change of clothes without over-stuffing the bag. I use the Bento along with my Travelpro compact carry on. So far I love it!
